Chapter 3-
Sai: I finally come in!
Naruto: Yaaaayyyy!!!!!
May10baby: …
Naruto: What?
May10baby: You'll see…

Sasuke jumped quickly through the trees. “Who's suspected of the kidnappings?” he asked Kurenai

“I don't know…” He glanced at Naruto “Hey are you alright? You're shaking.”

“I'm fine…” Naruto replied quietly. Sasuke stared at the blonde for a little longer before turning his attention back to the path.

“There!” Kiba shouted as they came into the clearing.

Sasuke froze as he centered the clearing. “How…” the ground was twisted up into spirals and huge carves were dug deeply into the earth. Naruto made a small sound, covering his mouth with both hands. In the center of the clearing surrounded by a dozen or so bodies was a brunette that looked just like Sasuke except that his hair was brushed flat and some-what neatly. He wore a black cloak over hidden clothes.

“H…he killed all those people?!” Kiba gasped noticing the similarity. The cloaked figure turned to the group and charged Sasuke.

Sasuke's eyes widened in shock as Naruto stepped in front of him “S…Sai stop!!! Please!!!” The brunette stopped abruptly in front Naruto; grabbing the blonde's arm, Sai took out 3 smoke bombs throwing them onto the ground.

“Naruto!” Sasuke coughed trying to see through the smoke. When the smoke finally cleared Naruto and Sai couldn't be seen. Sasuke dropped to his knees. “Naruto…”


Kurenai knelt next to the Uchiha “We should tell the Hokage.” Sasuke stood up and turned around darting into the trees.

*At the Hokage's Office*

Iruka turned around when the door opened “Ah! Sasuke, where's Naruto, I have something to tell him.”

“Gone.”

“What? Where?” Sasuke glared menacingly at the floor “That bastard… Sai… he kidnapped him.”

“What? Kidnapped? Sasuke be reasonable Sai-”

“-kidnapped Naruto! I not being reasonable I'm being realistic! I saw it happen!”

“Are you sure? They could just be playing a joke on you.”

“Would he surround himself with corpses for a prank?!” Sasuke asked hotly. They had to hurry!

“Corp-No Sai and Naruto wouldn't go that far.” Iruka replied gravely.

Tsunade stood up “I want ANBU on Sai, retrieval mission on Naruto, now!”

“Hai!”

Sasuke turned around but Iruka stopped him “Tell me what happened.” Sasuke looked longingly at the door but stay and began to explain what happened.

*In the woods*

Naruto screamed in pain as Sai cut a second gash into his left cheek. “Stop, Sai, stop please!!!” Naruto sobbed trying to break free of the roots that tied his hands and legs down.

“These scars will remind you of who you belong to.” Sai stated monotonously cutting the final gash on the left side.

Naruto shook from fear and lack of blood, the crimson liquid mixing with his tears “Sa…i…”Naruto panted, screaming when Sai started on his right cheek. `Sasuke, help!' Naruto pleaded mentally before passing out from the pain.

*Later*

Sasuke stood transfixed, his hands on the glass like a boy at the aquarium, staring inside the room.

“They say he lost a lot of blood.” Kakashi stated grimly “He'll have scars too.”

Sasuke looked wide-eyed in the next room; dozens of medic-nin along with Tsunade were squirming around Naruto. Only the occasional glimpse of blonde hair or a hand would justify that fact that the blonde was even there. “Naruto…” Sasuke said quietly as he caught sight of Naruto's cut, bleeding face. Kakashi placed his hand onto the brunette's shoulder.

Naruto winced as he opened his eyes. `Why do I feel so sore?' He sat up with some difficulty and looked around `The hospital…?' He looked up as the door opened.

Sasuke walked in, he froze when he saw Naruto. “Naruto…” he walked over and sat next to the blonde on the bed. “Are you okay? How do you feel?”

“Sore…” Naruto admitted giving Sasuke a strained smile.

“How long have I been out?”

“A couple days.” Naruto ran his hand over his face, his eyes widening when he felt the whisker-like scars on his cheeks. Sasuke placed his hand on the blonde's shoulder. “When the Hunter-nin found you…you were really cut up.”

Naruto closed his eyes `Sai…why would you…?' Naruto hugged his knees to his chest, ignoring the pain, tears running down his face.

Sasuke hugged the blonde “Hey, don't cry…what will Kyuubi going to say?”

Naruto looked up at Sasuke “What?”

Sasuke smiled at the blonde “Iruka came back; he says that everything is fine in the Wood.”

Naruto buried his face into the Uchiha's shirt “I'm happy and sad at the same time…”

Sasuke chuckled “You should have seen Iruka's face when he heard you were injured” Sasuke shivered “scary.”

Naruto laughed "Was everyone cowering?”

Sasuke nodded “I would have burst out laughing if not for my reputation.”

Naruto laughed “Yeah, he's pretty scary at certain times.”

Sasuke stood up “I'll tell the Hokage you're awake.”

Naruto nodded “Okay.” When Sasuke left Naruto gave a long sigh and inspected the damage. Along with the scars on his face his wrists and ankles deep gouges. `From those roots' Naruto thought remembering how he was bonded. Also long cut marks ran across his arms and chest. His legs were okay except for some bruises. Naruto closed his eyes and took off the number one thing he cherished, a small shell with a spiral on it, on a silver necklace. Sai had given this to him on his 6th birthday. He looked at it “Sai…” he closed his eyes and placed it on the bedside table. He lied down and closed his eyes, organizing some thoughts.

When Sasuke opened the door to the Hokage's office he noticed a red-haired boy and another boy with sand-colored hair in white cloaks talking to Tsunade quickly.

They turned around when Sasuke coughed “Naruto woke up.” he said looking at the Hokage and then at the strangers. They weren't from around here, the red head had matching bloody eyes, the sandy-haired one's were golden, both had slim figures, the main difference was that the red head's hair was neatly brushed down to his waist with a black highlight running through it, and the sandy-haired boy looked messy even though he looked like he attempted to comb it, and he had a black highlight as well.

“Naruto's awake?” the redhead walked over quickly, Sasuke noticed that he was wearing a pair of white khakis and a white tank top. He also had two kunai holsters, one around both legs and thin disk-like pouches along the back of his belt. “Is he okay?” the boy asked stopping in front of Sasuke.

Sasuke nodded “He says he's a little sore other than that he looks fine.”

The redhead sighed in relief “See Kyuubi? I told you he was okay, it's Naruto after all.” Kyuubi turned around, looking at the sandy-haired boy.

“Shut up Shuukaku! I was worried!” Shuukaku sweatdropped raising his hands in defense.

“Of course you were, you and your mom baby him like there's no tomorrow…”

Sasuke sighed “You can see him if you want…” Kyuubi turned around and started out the door.

Naruto looked up when his door opened “Naruto!” Shuukaku and Sasuke had to hold Kyuubi back from smothering his younger brother.

“C…calm down Kyuubi! He's still injured!”

Kyuubi sighed and gave Sasuke and Shuukaku his if-you-want-to-have-children-Let-Go look, Sasuke and Shuukaku sweatdropped releasing Kyuubi. Kyuubi walked over to Naruto “How are you feeling?” he asked feeling Naruto's forehead.

“Fine.” Naruto replied.

“Can you walk?”

When Naruto nodded, Kyuubi sighed. “Good. You need to come back to Wood immediately.”

Sasuke's eyes widened in shock `No. Naruto…!'
